A Listing Sponsor can sponsor applications for new listings of mutual funds, insurance related securities, fixed income securities, depository receipts and secondary listing of equity securities.  Sponsors can also, in conjuction with a Trading Member, sponsor primary equity listings.

At this time, a Listing Sponsor must be a Bermuda incorporated entity.

 

How to become a Listing Sponsor

An applicant must:

  • Submit a brief business plan detailing how the membership will be used
  • Be a limited liability company incorporated in Bermuda (local 80/20 pr 60/40 or exempted).  No individuals or permit companies will be admitted.
  • Meet the Minimum Net Capital (MNC) requirments of $25,000, both at the time of admission and on a continuous basis thereafter
  • Have appointed an independent auditor
  • Satisfy the BSX's requirements for relevant experience
  • Pay an admission fee and annual membership fee
  • Agree to be bound by the BSX Listing Sponsor Regulations as prescribed by the BSX and approved by the Bermuda Monetary Authority

Fees

Application Fee:  $10,000

Annual Fee:  $7,500

The application fee is non-refundable should the applicant decide to withdraw its application prior to the determination of the application by the Exchange or the applicant is not deemed fit and proper to be a Listing Sponsor.

The annual fee is pro-rated from the month of approval.
